Support that meets you where you are
At Wide Lens Counselling, you will find a comfortable and welcoming place to talk about what is happening in your life, your relationships and anything you are working through. I offer counselling in Calgary for individuals, couples, families and other therapists, and each service is meant to give you steady support and a space where you feel understood.
My practice welcomes people of all identities and backgrounds and is 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming. You can meet with me in person in Calgary or connect online if virtual sessions work better for you.
Support for anxiety, stress, grief, identity questions and life changes
Individual therapy is a chance to slow down, reflect, and understand what is happening in your life. People seek counselling for many reasons, such as stress, anxiety, grief, depression, relationship issues, self doubt, or major life transitions.
In our work together, we look at your thoughts, emotions, values, and goals. Instead of reducing you to a label, we explore your story and the strengths you already carry.
I work from a perspective that is shaped by solution-focused, narrative and response-based therapies.
A space to rebuild trust, improve communication and reconnect
Couples counselling gives partners a safe place to talk about what is not working and what they want to strengthen. Whether you are experiencing conflict, feeling distant, managing a big life change, or trying to navigate the heavy decision of staying together or separating, support can make a meaningful difference.
During sessions, we explore the values, hopes, and wishes you have for your relationship, and assess the habits and practices that might be getting in the way of this shared vision. My approach supports couples of all identities and orientations, including traditional, queer, poly, and ENM relationships.
Support for families navigating change and communication
Family counselling can help adults rebuild connection, improve communication, and understand each other with more care and insight. Sessions are available for adult family members, such as siblings, parents and adult children, or blended family groups.
Together, we look at the dynamics that shape your relationships. We explore the history behind these patterns and the strengths, hopes, and values that each person brings. The goal is not to place blame. Instead, we work to create more understanding, safety, and trust between all family members.
A supportive space for mental health professionals
There are times when therapists need therapy too. Often our own difficult life experiences inform and inspire the work we do every day. But the counselling community can be small, making it hard to find safe spaces to talk when things feel overwhelming. There can also be stigma around accessing counselling as a mental health professional, however, therapists have relationships and dilemmas that are just as complex as everyone else's.
I've had the pleasure of working with many therapists over the years, and am truly passionate about supporting you to feel heard and respected. Whether you want to talk about your work, things going on in your own life and relationships, or you are just curious to experience therapy from a client perspective, you are welcome here.
I offer consultation and supervision for therapists who want a supportive place to think through their work and connect with others in the field. This includes peer consultation groups, supervision groups for new therapists and individual consultation for those who prefer one-on-one support.
These spaces focus on reflection, shared learning and steady guidance. I am currently welcoming new members.
It is normal to feel unsure about taking the first step. Therapy is a place where you can bring your questions, fears, and hopes without pressure. If you are wondering whether one of these services is the right fit, we can schedule a short conversation to explore your needs.
